Me and my fiance' decided to go watch a late show. "Snatched" is the movie we decided to watch. Upon entering the theater room we noticed we were the only ones, we decided to get "the perfect seats" which for us was about three rows from the top, dead center. We sat down and the previews started. I started to get a scent of something unpleasant. Us not having bought popcorn or anything other than a large Sprite, it seemed very odd. The odor grew stronger and more unpleasing. I looked to my spouse and asked if she could smell anything or if it was just me? She said she could smell something but could not place it. I leaned over my shoulder and took a smell from the back of my chair with no luck. I asked her to stand up as I smelled the bottom side of her chair. Nothing there either, until I smelled my seat bottom. That is when it hit us! The smell of urine on my seat bottom, not soaked but slightly damp, withing the day. My pants were a little damp, nothing too bad except the disgusting smell of urine. We moved up a few rows and decided not to let it ruin our evening and my spouse insisted I speak up to someone and tell them. I said if someone was out front when we leave I will! After the show we walked out, got a refill and no one was at the counter, she decided to use the restroom while I wait for someone. There was one movie still playing at this time and no one was up front. We left and went home where I changed and immediately washed my jeans. I am giving a one star rating because all the word going around on how great the remodel is supposed to be, we have seen no changes inside the theater rooms, only the lobby, no one goes to the movies for the lobby. The remainder of the one star rating is the smell of urine ruined the experience for us to enjoy the show, second the fact no one was at the desk when we were leaving the show. I would much rather drive to Gainsville, Norman or Durant to watch a show. I would take some notes on the cleanliness of the theater rooms over how the lobby looks. I would love to speak to someone and even show them personally which room and seat it was and have them get a nice smell of what we did. One bad experience is all it takes to change someone's mind. This was the one time for us.

It's comfortable, great customer service, but on the expensive side. One adult and one child and a bucket of popcorn....$30. Took alot of popcorn home though. Big portion. I'm sure there's some money saving deals that I was not savvy to. Fun!

I am super bummed that the Carmike 8 has been purchased by AMC. As a working, middle class family we only go to the movies about 6 or 7 times a year and value the treat of going to the movies and splurging on popcorn and soda. I do not like the new concession stand. It is more expensive and the self serve soda machine and self serve butter station is a bonafide hot mess. People are everywhere, trying to decide what to drink (because this machine offers an assortment of mixing and mashing of flavors and people take forever...like the drink flavor will change their destiny) and sloshing popcorn butter topping every which way. It is chaos on top of chaos in the crowded theatre concession area.

I love coming here! Used to be a Carmike but AMC recently took over. Enjoying all the changes. Nice interior, comfortable seating and great snack/drink options.

Today was such a hassle at the concession stand that we will probably go elsewhere when we splurge on movie night.

We were in Ardmore on vacation and we walked in on Wednesday May 24th and there was no one working front desk and no one working concession stand. It was like a ghost town. We said hello and we walked through one side of theater and there was no one so we went to other side and no one was there either. We sat down in a room and then a nice kid came in with a company shirt cleaning up and he politely asked us if we had been checked in. He escorted us to the front desk where there were two girls waiting. They were curt and rude and did not apologize for not being at their posts. They didn't give us a free drink or popcorn, nothing. Cashier#9874 was the rude girl who was not originally at her post. That other guy needs to be given a promotion! And someone needs to manage this place better.

AND they are "having trouble with screen vision" so the movie started late. :( Why AMC?
